Pronounced I-yur-vay-da, and translated as ‘science of life’, it is the traditional medical from India which provides a complete holistic system that deals directly with illness to restore balance and health. This ancient science has existed for over 5000 years and is a teaching of how to live life on a moment to moment basis that is in harmony with our individual nature and Mother Nature, a way of living with insight and balance.
Ayurveda treats each person as unique taking into consideration all aspects of a person’s diet and lifestyle and the affects these have on one’s wellbeing. It uses herbs and spices, food, massage, yoga, meditation and wise living as part of its philosophy to bring balance to the vital energies or ‘dosha’s of an individual namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. As well as treating illness, Ayurveda focuses on preventing disease and maximising vitality.

Ayurvedic Massage – Chavutti Thirumal
1 hour – R500; 1.5 hours R650
Pronounced cha-voo-tee tirumal and literally meaning “foot pressure“. This ancient Indian, deep tissue, warm oil massage is unique as the treatment is principally applied with the bare foot, using the hands for the finishing touches. As sensitive as the hand, the foot gives a deeper more even pressure. The receiver lies on floor mats whilst the practitioner applies the foot like a hand, one at time, holding on to a rope for support and balance. At no point does the practitioner stand on the receiver. Intricate footwork sweeps, kneads and frictions the skin and connective tissue that supports the muscles, organs and energy pathways. The treatment focuses precise attention on aligning and lengthening the spine. Treat sports injuries, sciatica, back pain, shoulder problems, stress and deep seated tension you’ve learnt to live with!

Mana Card Readings
Mana Card Reading draws on ancient Hawaiian wisdom to give new insights and to bring clarity to any situation. The cards offer interpretations of our life circumstances through teachings from Hawaiian mythical gods and goddesses, through the power of the elements and from the animal kingdom. Anthea brings her intimate understanding of the Huna teachings and Mana cards after using them for the past 10 years during transformational Kahuna massage retreats she facilitates. She has been sharing Kahuna teachings as her full time vocation for the past 14 years.
Anthea has always been a curious and adventurous spirit with an innate calling to inspire and add beauty in life. Her interest in the humanities led her to complete a Psychology degree after matriculating. She soon realised that she was searching for another way of accessing the psyche and facilitating healing. She began to explore healing modalities and 20 years ago qualified as a reflexologist, massage therapist and shortly after that a Reiki master. It was on one of many travels abroad that she experienced the healing power of Kahuna massage for herself. She began her studies with internationally renowned teacher, Mette Sorensen, in Australia 15 years ago and has been sharing this ancient, healing bodywork in South Africa ever since. Anthea has worked with thousands of individuals and has taught hundreds of gifted Kahuna bodyworkers during this time. As she says, “It is my joy and privilege to share this life-changing work with you too!”

Crystal Healing Therapy
1 hour R350
Energy based healing modality utilizing the powerful influences of the crystals and the Shamanic influences of the elements and the four directions. The client is placed in a sacred circle, spiritual guides and angels are called, as the crystals are laid upon the body. Patsy uses a variety of techniques in her healings, one of which was taught to her by a 10th generation Cherokee Medicine healer who adopted her as her granddaughter and passed the traditions down to her. Her teacher was also Naisha Ashian who wrote the Book of Stones so the two traditions are blended depending on the healing needs of the client.
Crystal Card Readings
1 hour R350 (This reading sometimes goes more than an hour, so do allow for this additional time at no additional cost!)
Utilizing Naisha Ashian Crystal Ally cards and the energy of the stones, we explore together the aspects of your life that you are resonating with at the present time. This is a deeply healing reading and one in which there is a lot of spiritual counseling. Clients have often remarked that a session with the cards has helped them more than a year of traditional physiological therapy. Patsy is also a Radical Forgiveness Couch and helps her in following through with a reading on a deeply therapeutic level. This is NOT a fortune telling reading but rather a work in to the inner most parts of oneself. When booking this treatment allow the time for processing also.
Having always been a seeker, studying most of the major religions of the world, Patsy was introduced to yoga by her father-in-law and founder of ISHTA Yoga, Mani Finger. Patsy found yoga to be an extension of all that she held to be true. After immigrating to America in 1996, she completed a teacher training with Alan Finger and taught yoga at the studio she opened in Boca Raton Florida, 13 years ago. Studying under teachers such as Rod Stryker, Aadil Pakival, John Friend, Angela Farmer and Shiva Ray in the States, Patsy has developed a unique and personalised style but says that her roots are be very firmly planted in the ISHTA tradition, founded by Mani and Alan.
Having studied a number of energy healing modalities too including Reiki, Healing Touch, Crystal Healing and Intuitive Healing, in addition, Patsy will be introducing Crystal Healings, Thai Yoga Massage and One on One yoga that includes Patsy’s unique Yogassage at ISHTA’s Crystal Healing Room.
