ISHTA TEACHER’S TRAINING COURSE

Comprising Philosophy, Meditation, Pranayama, Asana and Yoga Nidra

Learn How To Teach Yoga In The Ancient Yogic Tradition!
Our 500-hour teacher training curriculum is for those students who wish to deepen their knowledge in the philosophy and psychology of Yoga, Asana, Pranayama, Savasana, Yoga Nidra and basic Ayurveda. The ISHTA perspective integrates all aspects of ancient yoga and modern living to create a sustainable and unique practice: a fusion of Tantric yoga and modern sensibility.
The course comprises of 52 lessons and requires at least 10 hours of yoga per week: two or three classes with your regular teacher, four hours written homework and self study time and three hours of weekly teacher training sessions with Marina Contardo. As we need to cater for breaks or holidays, additional work is done via email correspondence or as assignments and projects.
Teacher Training Classes are on:
Saturdays and/or Wednesdays
Time: 10.OOam until 1.00pm.
Wednesday Venue: ISHTA School of Yoga & Health, 121 Atholl Road, Atholl, Sandton
Saturday Venue: 387 York Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg
Cost: R14 000 on registration, including a comprehensive manual, additional notes and tutorials.

About Marina Contardo
Marina’s introduction to ISHTA yoga came about as a young girl when she was at school with Kavi Yogiraj Mani Finger’s daughter, Lisa. Yoga was introduced to her at this early age and it became a lifelong journey and commitment for Marina who has over 35 years of teaching experience.
Marina encourages and teaches with a relaxed yet mindful awareness of the yoga teachings, psychology and philosophy which she believes offers the internal equipoise we need to create healthy, sustainable lifestyles for ourselves.
As Chairperson of Yoga Teachers Fellowship of Southern Africa, Marina offers a 500-hour ISHTA Teachers’ Training Course (with an International Yoga Federation affiliation) at the ISHTA Studio of Yoga and Health. Further to her philosophy degree, Marina has also studied reflexology, Reiki, Shiatsu and Advanced Counseling through Unisa as a Hospice bereavement, loss counselor and care giver.
